With no manager and Antonio Palladino standing in as caretaker manager and Director of Football, Serie A new boys AS Rex Leonia have completed the signing of two nationally capped players - Leonardo Bortolotti and Thiago Russo.
Since their promotion to the Serie A for the first ever time in their history, Rex Leonia have adopted a strategy of recruiting players on short-term or rolling contracts and with only 20 contracted players in the club, the need for reinforcements was high on the club agenda.
Bortolotti joins on a fee of Cr 3 Million from FC Fiorecitta, who seemed surplus to requirements following the signing of Massimo Santoni. Thiago Russo, who played under Palladino at Vecchiacittà joined on a fee of Cr 6.5 Million, breaking the club's transfer record.
Both moves are seen as coups for the club, and it looks like there could be more transfer activity along the way. Ólafur Inserni looks like he will join the club on loan, while the club looks to extend Perluigi Manasseri's loan from FC Fiorecittà as well as signing Alessandro Canale on a permanent transfer. It seems like it will be a busy afternoon for the club, who will look to wrap up their transfers before tonight's clash against Maccabiah Klymenburg.
The club expect all signings will be available for the match, as clearance is expected by the FGGC following paper work submission of the 6 transfers last night.
